Today’s topic is all about how to prepare for your IELTS Exam. Before applying for Express Entry, you are required to take an IELTS General Test. If you’re applying for a Study Permit to study in Canada, although IELTS is not required for your SP Application,t may be required for program entry to your chosen school to get a Letter of Acceptance. So I have prepared this video regardless to help you prepare for your IELTS exam.
In this video, we will differentiate the types of IELTS tests (Academic vs. General). I will also talk about the exam fees/cost. And more importantly, I will share some HELPFUL TIPS on how to obtain a score of CLB 8 or higher on your IELTS Exam. I have shared in detail my own experiences taking the IELTS Exam three times (3x) for studies and for immigration to Canada. It's a good way listening your video to help me to improve my listening skill.
Got a CLB 8 as well. Listening 8.5, Reading 9.0, Speaking 8.0 and Writing is 6.0 LOL. I believed and followed a format given by a friend for writing. I should have stuck with the tips from Youtube.
Listening: test on concentration
Reading: test on cognitive ability (understanding the ideas in text, coming up with titles)
Writing: test on how coherent and logical your thought process is
Speaking: test on how eloquent you are
that is not a language test, its a test on how well you fit in Anglo-Saxon world.

Your IELT examiner must have made a grading mistake. Your band should be 9 instead of 8.
